GearMate® is a lubricant specifically formulated for open gears and other severe applications in draglines, mining excavators, ball mills and furnaces.
GearMate® contains a high molecular weight polymer that resists drying, oxidation and thermal decomposition. This is extremely useful in areas with high dust contamination or where weather conditions can cause scaling of rods, gears and circular rails. Whitmore's blend of solids and soluble oil anti-wear additives offers superior load bearing capability and wear resistance in an environmentally safe package.
GearMate® has a thickening structure with excellent thermal and mechanical stability and inherently resists emulsification with water. Low temperature capabilities allow the formed lubricating film to maintain adhesive characteristics and high protection under the most demanding conditions.
All grades meet the requirements of Caterpillar specification SD 4713 (formerly Bucyrus International). The “Super Heavy” grade meets the requirements for use on Caterpillar Shovel Hoist Drum Gears (SD specification 4713, revised June 2011).
